Sassenheim, May 2015

Voltea’s first participation at the Clean Show was in Atlanta, 2015, and we had a fantastic show. Voltea’s CEO, Bryan Brister, commented “Overwhelming booth traffic everyday of the show confirms that our industry is ripe with opportunities for innovative technologies that allow operators to utilize resources more efficiently and meaningfully reduce operating costs.”

For those who weren’t familiar with Voltea’s CapDI© technology before the Clean Show in Atlanta, they now know what an innovative and exciting deionization technique can do for them! Voltea came back home to The Netherlands with not only sales on the books, but new relationships built and the urge to help these customers in need of what we are so incredible at- removing salts from water at high temperatures and delivering measurable financial savings to operators.

We were able to give business leaders and sales teams a 360° view of our IS4 system, which enabled us to show how the technology works, as well as give an exact idea of the minimal amount of space one of our units takes up at your laundry facility. Our efforts allow a laundry facility to realize exceptional operational, chemical, and energy costs savings.

CapDI© works in a simple 2-step process: Purification and Regeneration. During purification, saline water passes between oppositely charged electrodes, which electrostatically remove dissolved ions, leaving pure water flowing out of the cell. Regeneration is marked by feed water flushing through the cell at a lower flow rate, while the electrode polarity is reversed. The ions that were trapped are then ejected from the electrode surface, concentrated in the flow channel and flushed from the cell. Both steps are executed at laundering temperatures up to 140°F (60°C), so there is no need to cool the water to ambient temperature before TDS removal.

 About Voltea

Voltea has been delivering electrochemical water-conditioning equipment to institutional, commercial and industrial customers for over 6 years. Voltea’s CapDI© systems remove dissolved salts from water using electricity at a lower economic and environmental cost than any other available technology. Voltea was recognized as one of the 21 Technology Pioneers 2013 at the World Economic Forum, listed in the 2011 Global Cleantech 100 and won the best new technology award at the 2010 Global Water Summit.
