Groundbreaking Horticulture Application for Voltea CapDI©

Sassenheim, February 2016- Authored by Heather Leighow

Voltea, the world’s leader in membrane Capacitive Deionization (CapDI©), has completed a groundbreaking horticulture application for treating vegetable washwater with the Holland Marsh Growers’ Association Water Project (HMGA).

In this specific project, beet water was tested using pre-filtration, with CapDI© removing TDS as a final polishing phase. The testing conducted by HMGA over a 2 month period proved that minimal pre-filtration, combined with CapDI©, achieved the goals of the washwater treatment. The detailed document from HMGA, with graphic representations and testing figures, can be viewed on their website, here: Ultrafiltration and DI Test-HMGA . This exciting application is useful for the purpose of reducing levels of TDS in the washwater to a point where water can be discharged into the environment or reused in the respective facility
