Voltea Releases CapDI for Horticulture Case Study

Voltea, the world’s leader in Membrane-Capacitive Deionization (CapDI©), for tunable salt-free and chemical-free water softening and desalination, has created a case study based on our CapDI installation at a horticulture facility in Mexico. This case study focuses on how our CapDI technology cost-effectively and tunably removes dissolved salts from irrigation water, resulting in this tomato grower having the ability to grow their own tomato seedlings in-house, rather than having to purchase from a third-party.

CapDI's tunability feature is especially significant for the horticulture industry as certain crops require specific and different salinities than other crops. This allows growers to target a specific salinity for tomatoes, and a different salinity for peppers and other crops, all while keeping the necessary and beneficial nutrients present in the irrigation water.
