Voltea, the world’s leader in membrane Capacitive Deionization (CapDI©), has entered into two recent partnerships, both in new territories for the technology.
PROXA (www.proxawater.com), a South African-based leader in total water management, has become a new system integrator for Voltea on the African continent. PROXA also covers areas in the Middle East, Australia, and Europe.
Mavi Teknoloji Ltd – OSMO (www.osmo.com.tr), a Turkish-based leader in water treatment services, has become a new distributor of CapDI throughout the Eastern European region.
Voltea’s CEO, Dr. Bryan Brister offers, “We are proud to have PROXA and Osmo join the family of global system integrators using Voltea’s CapDI. The performance of the technology in commercial applications across the globe continues to drive momentum and attract new integrators, distributors and resellers.”
Voltea’s CapDI vs RO Challenge!

Voltea, the world’s leader in membrane Capacitive Deionization (CapDI©), has performed a detailed technical analysis supported by field data from various installation sites that compares CapDI technology to that of Reverse Osmosis (RO) – see attached document. In the desalination/water purification technology field, CapDI has often competed with RO in all aspects of the business, from capital and operating expenses (including energy consumption and consumables costs), to operational efficiency and water recovery rates. Voltea’s CapDI technology costs have now reached parity with that of RO, and this document details all aforementioned aspects of measure with CapDI consistently at the advantage.
If your business uses RO, or if you are considering the purchase of an RO unit, ask yourself if you are satisfied with the expected costs, energy consumption, and predicted water recovery to fully understand the true cost of ownership. By evaluating the attached document, you can see how CapDI dwarfs RO in savings, performance and sustainability, and we would like to challenge you to find a situation where RO is a more desirable and sustainable option subject to similar process conditions. Voltea’s CapDI for Horticulture Showcase in Mexico

Voltea, the world’s leader in membrane Capacitive Deionization (CapDI©), recently lead a presentation of our chemical free, TDS removal solution for the Horticulture application at the United Farms facility in Queretaro, Mexico. The presentation included results of numerous testing factors, with specific target TDS removal rates for their irrigation water.
Desalination in this region of Mexico has proven to be very challenging due to the high silica concentration in the water. Elevated silica levels makes conventional desalination technologies inefficient, with water losses and expensive antiscalants required for operation. In contrast, CapDI was able to achieve water recovery of up to 90% while tunably removing TDS, even with a silica concentration of 80 ppm and minimal pre-treatment.
The attached Horticulture Event Package includes data graphs and application information that prove CapDI is the best way to tunably deionize irrigation water, with consistency in target TDS removal. Horticulture businesses benefit from using CapDI by its low energy consumption, no required chemicals, minimal maintenance, as well as overall reduced water and fertilizer consumption.
In attendance of this presentation included both Dutch and Mexican government officials, as well as several other growers from the Queretaro AgroPark and other nearby locations. This highly successful event for Voltea is yet another validation of CapDI for the Horticulture application globally.
