We are proud to share that Voltea’s capacitive deionization technology has been included in the Global Water Technologies Qualified Testing system for the XPRIZE Water Scarcity competition. Global Water Technologies (OTC: GWTR), led by CEO Erik Hromadka, has been selected as one of only 93 teams advancing to the next stage of the $119 million global prize competition. Chosen from a pool of 674 teams representing 86 countries, this effort showcases system-level innovation aimed at solving one of humanity’s most urgent challenges — sustainable access to water. Voltea, under the leadership of CEO Todd Marron, is honored to contribute core technology that will help the team advance seawater desalination systems designed to improve water recovery, energy efficiency, and brine management. The announcement was made at WEFTEC 2025 in Chicago, North America’s largest annual gathering of water professionals.
