Voltea, the world’s leader in Membrane-Capacitive Deionization (CapDI©), for tunable, salt-free and chemical-free water softening and desalination, is excited to announce that we are exhibiting at the Western Food Expo!
The Western Foodservice and Hospitality Expo features the products, trends and services you need for both front-of-house and back-of-house operational efficiency. It is located at the LA Convention Center in Los Angeles, CA, August 27-29, 2017.
Don’t miss Voltea CEO, Bryan Brister’s speaking session August 29 @ 3:00pm in Theater B, Booth 2054: “Sustainable CapDI: Salt-Free, Chemical-Free Water Desalination”. This will be a valuable educational session on how CapDI fits into many applications within the Food & Beverage industry!
CapDI is an innovative and sustainable way to remove salts and other minerals from water sources for many applications within the Food & Beverage industry; from drinking water in beverages and irrigation water for growers, to laundry water reuse/TDS removal that keeps white linens bright! Bryan Brister, CEO of Voltea, will discuss how salt-free, chemical-free CapDI technology helps prevent corrosion and scale in your valuable appliances, all while remaining environmentally responsible and low-cost.
Current Project: CapDI For Coffee
Recently, Voltea sold several hundred CapDI PoU systems to the world’s most recognized coffee retailer! Our systems tunably deionize the water used in these beverages to ensure consistent water quality that meets the high standards required of this retailer, all while reducing hard water issues and scale deposits in their high-end commercial appliances! The superior efficiency of CapDI technology (>80%) compared to conventional RO systems (<40% in lower flow conditions) allows our customer to significantly reduce water consumption and OpEx costs, along with meeting their commitment to sustainability efforts and a lower carbon-footprint.

Voltea, the world’s leader in Membrane-Capacitive Deionization (CapDI©), for tunable, salt-free and chemical-free water softening and desalination, has a major technology announcement! Starting June 1, Voltea is offering a transformed line of Industrial and Commercial systems, dramatically improving cost, operational efficiency, footprint and longevity.
Engineering advances to Voltea’s CapDI systems include revolutionary improvements in electronic controls, re-designed piping significantly reducing interconnected dead volume, and the use of Voltea’s Single-block technology for module connections. This combination delivers a drastic improvement in system performance while achieving a superior cost structure to traditional desalination and softening technologies.
These advances required a repositioning of Voltea’s modules to a horizontal orientation, now called the IS-H (Industrial Series – Horizontal) Systems.
‘I am delighted to introduce the world to Voltea’s IS-H series. Our engineering and design teams have made a big step forward in product performance while dramatically reducing capital equipment costs,’ commented Voltea’s CEO, L. Bryan Brister.
June 5-8, Voltea will be exhibiting at the Clean Show 2017 in Las Vegas, where they will be officially displaying the first IS-24H to the market! Please stop by booth 3477 to take a peek at this advanced CapDI System!
Voltea Releases CapDI for Horticulture Case Study

Voltea, the world’s leader in Membrane-Capacitive Deionization (CapDI©), for tunable salt-free and chemical-free water softening and desalination, has created a case study based on our CapDI installation at a horticulture facility in Mexico. This case study focuses on how our CapDI technology cost-effectively and tunably removes dissolved salts from irrigation water, resulting in this tomato grower having the ability to grow their own tomato seedlings in-house, rather than having to purchase from a third-party.
CapDI’s tunability feature is especially significant for the horticulture industry as certain crops require specific and different salinities than other crops. This allows growers to target a specific salinity for tomatoes, and a different salinity for peppers and other crops, all while keeping the necessary and beneficial nutrients present in the irrigation water.
